tone.io provides subtitle translation software through:

• Desktop applications for Windows and macOS
• Offline translation processing using machine learning models
• Sign-in provided by AlderCard, our identity service, using phone number verification

Account Terms

To use tone.io, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide a valid phone number you control, for sign-in verification
• Be responsible for all activity under your account
• Not share your account with others

Pricing

tone.io is currently free to use, with no subscription required and no usage limits. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, these terms will be updated in advance and you will not be charged without clear notice and your consent.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the software
• Share or resell your account access
• Use the service for illegal or harmful content

Content Ownership

• You retain all rights to your videos and content
• Translations are processed locally on your device
• We do not claim ownership of your translations
• You are responsible for the content you create and translate

Service Availability

• We strive for 99.9% uptime for our website and sign-in service
• The desktop application works offline after installation
• We may perform scheduled maintenance with notice
• We are not liable for service interruptions

• We recommend human review for professional use
• We are not responsible for errors in translations

Limitation of Liability

tone.io shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service.
